4 Tips on How to Onboard New Hires in a Hybrid World

Working in a hybrid environment has become extremely common recently. COVID-19 is the most probable cause of this and for that reason it has spread populously. It is predicted that 50% of the workforce will work remotely by 2025. There are many beneficial factors of the hybrid work environment, but this also raises uncertainty around modifying what we have always seen as the “traditional” workplace. Here are four tips for putting together an onboarding plan, specifically in a hybrid environment:

  1. Experience-based mentorship program
  2. This way, connections and relationships are established for mentors to share their experience
  3. Gather employee feedback with pulse surveys to check-in with onboarding groups
  4. Surveys allow hires to track feedback and maximize satisfaction
  5. Send out weekly check-in videos to go out to new hires
  6. To maintain communication and help employees feel like they are part of a team
  7. Foster connections with new hire groups and team building activities
  8. New hires can meet outside of the workplace to get to. know one another (this can be organized virtually too!)
