Proactive Verses Reactive

  • Posted by: sheena

Every time we are challenged, reaction is triggered.

To react is to come from ego. The ruling force of our life. Selfishness and reactivity are all characteristics of our ego. A natural tendency in all of us. It’s a reactive consciousness that eventually manifests into anxiety, worry, stress and fear. It happens when we allow an external circumstance to lead us to react from a place of lack. As a result, we end up in a bad mood, we are upset, dissatisfied with life and oftentimes, feeling empty. The ego gives you a message telling you to be selfish. Think about you while it pushes you to self sabotage. You are being controlled by your reactive consciousness to the point you become addicted to it.

How can you remain calm and proactive instead?

Begin with a pause…. You have a choice. You get to decide how you will react. Tune inward. When we tune in to our soul, we are coming from light source. We don’t have to fall into fear, uncertainty, blame or judgement. When we listen to our soul we acknowledge we are the cause of our challenges. We co-create our situations. Being proactive can shift this. You turn on the light inside of you. If you want to come from the light, you need to transform from reactive mode to proactive mode. Work on coming from effect and not cause. Choose to see a challenge from a different space. Ask yourself the following questions?

  1. Why is this situation showing up now?
  2. In what ways is this happening for me instead of to me?
  3. How can I find the blessings in this challenge?

These tips should help begin the shift. Practice doesn’t make perfect, but it will bring improvement.
